What does the course event cover?
This one – day course will help delegates’ to be able to:
- Summarise and understand various health and safety legislation that underpins the Load Management of people, in particular the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
- Relate to and have a greater understanding of the safe working guidelines as set out in the legislation above • Learn about the structure/anatomy of the spine
- Practise and demonstrate their practical skills in applying various specialist pieces of handling equipment to carry out various manual handling operations of people, in a simulated workplace setting (Role play) This will include use of handling belts, banana board’s, sliding roller and flat sheets etc within various settings i.e transfers from chair, bed floor etc
This course is designed for employees who have received either very little or no previous training within this specialist area, when caring and moving and handling clients from within a social care or educational working environment.
